Selection Process

The National Trust South Australia and all 48 Branches participated in a review the condition and status of heritage places to ascertain if any are under such immediate risk as to merit public attention being drawn to their predicament through an Our Heritage At Risk nomination.

The National Trust South Australia also contacted the following organisations at the State level for nominations of  “At Risk” heritage places:

Final selection of the Our Heritage at Risk Places - South Australia - 2008 will be made by the  natural, cultural and collections heritage advisory committees. The National Trust South Australia feels that this provides the best overall process for assessment . Depending on program reach and feedback, public nominations and an independent judging panel may be possible options to consider in future years.

Nominations closed on 18 April and the South Australia Top 10 List for 2008 was announced on 1 July.
