Threats/Risks:
Destruction
Fate/outcome:
Suffering
While most nineteenth and early twentieth century heritage places in Victoria are adequately identified in heritage studies
and are protected by heritage legislation, there has been a lack of willingness on the part of most government authorities to identify and
protect the best examples of late twentieth century architecture. As a result these are
extremely vulnerable to inappropriate redevelopment or even demolition.
Desired Outcome / Vision
The best examples of late twentieth century architecture need to be identified and given appropriate heritage protection as is
now the case with architecture from earlier periods.
