Significance of Place
The unsealed roadway dates from the early settlement period. In its present form, condition and appearance it makes a major contribution to the scenic cultural and historic value of the lands through which it passes.

 

The road in its current rustic condition forms part of the historical rural landscape linking many aspects of the original Bloomhill community, including the lone grave of local identity, Henry Stapley. In its current form the road provides an interesting link between early Australian settlement and contemporary life in the area.

 

 

Description of Threat
Oberon Council plans to tar seal this rustic road despite considerable opposition.


Action Required
Oberon Council should not proceed with its planned tar sealing.
