Our Heritage At Risk
Day
The first
Our Heritage At
Risk list of places and associated moveable
heritage at the State and Territory level was announced on 18
April 2007, a date of special significance as ICOMOS
World Heritage Day. For 2008 and
beyond, nominations will close on Word
Heritage Day 18 April and an Our Heritage At Risk list
will be announced in each State and Territory
on 1 July.
Selection of the National "Top
10"
The Our Heritage At Risk lists from each territory and
state will be submitted to a national judging panel,
and are assessed against the criteria to compile the Our Heritage
At Risk - National Top 10 list. This selection will
be coordinated by the Australian Council of
National Trusts. The Our Heritage At
Risk - National Top 10 is announced annually in
late October. Last year, the announcement was made on 18
October at Currumbin Sancturary in
Queensland.
Annual Report
Card
A report card will be issued
annually reporting on the outcomes of the sites identified in the
previous year. This
will include a snapshot of issues and emerging trends nationally
regarding Our Heritage At
Risk . A watching brief will be maintained on all
Our Heritage At
Risk nominations,
(including all previous Endangered
Places listings), to ensure that the
information on the internal ourheritageatrisk database and
this website is current and correct and a ready and valuable source
of heritage information.
